As Ibn Masoud eloquently stated, “If a man among us learned ten verses, he would not go beyond them until he knew their meanings and acted upon them.”

Similarly, Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Sulami recounted, “Those who used to recite us told us that if they knew ten verses, they would not leave them behind until they did what was in them, so we learned the Quran and the work together.”

الْحَاقَّةُ الحاقة [1]
The Inevitable Reality - Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [1]
مَا الْحَاقَّةُ الحاقة [2]
What is the Inevitable Reality? Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [2]
وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْحَاقَّةُ الحاقة [3]
And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [3]
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ وَعَادٌ بِالْقَارِعَةِ الحاقة [4]
Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [4]
فَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَأُهْلِكُوا بِالطَّاغِيَةِ الحاقة [5]
So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]. Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [5]
وَأَمَّا عَادٌ فَأُهْلِكُوا بِرِيحٍ صَرْصَرٍ عَاتِيَةٍ الحاقة [6]
And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [6]
سَخَّرَهَا عَلَيْهِمْ سَبْعَ لَيَالٍ وَثَمَانِيَةَ أَيَّامٍ حُسُومًا فَتَرَى الْقَوْمَ فِيهَا صَرْعَىٰ كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ خَاوِيَةٍ الحاقة [7]
Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees. Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [7]
فَهَلْ تَرَىٰ لَهُم مِّن بَاقِيَةٍ الحاقة [8]
Then do you see of them any remains? Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [8]
وَجَاءَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَن قَبْلَهُ وَالْمُؤْتَفِكَاتُ بِالْخَاطِئَةِ الحاقة [9]
And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin. Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [9]
فَعَصَوْا رَسُولَ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَهُمْ أَخْذَةً رَّابِيَةً الحاقة [10]
And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [10]
إِنَّا لَمَّا طَغَى الْمَاءُ حَمَلْنَاكُمْ فِي الْجَارِيَةِ الحاقة [11]
Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [11]
لِنَجْعَلَهَا لَكُمْ تَذْكِرَةً وَتَعِيَهَا أُذُنٌ وَاعِيَةٌ الحاقة [12]
That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [12]
فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ نَفْخَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ الحاقة [13]
Then when the Horn is blown with one blast Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [13]
وَحُمِلَتِ الْأَرْضُ وَالْجِبَالُ فَدُكَّتَا دَكَّةً وَاحِدَةً الحاقة [14]
And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow - Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [14]
فَيَوْمَئِذٍ وَقَعَتِ الْوَاقِعَةُ الحاقة [15]
Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur, Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [15]
وَانشَقَّتِ السَّمَاءُ فَهِيَ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاهِيَةٌ الحاقة [16]
And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm. Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [16]
وَالْمَلَكُ عَلَىٰ أَرْجَائِهَا ۚ وَيَحْمِلُ عَرْشَ رَبِّكَ فَوْقَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ ثَمَانِيَةٌ الحاقة [17]
And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [17]
يَوْمَئِذٍ تُعْرَضُونَ لَا تَخْفَىٰ مِنكُمْ خَافِيَةٌ الحاقة [18]
That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [18]
فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ فَيَقُولُ هَاؤُمُ اقْرَءُوا كِتَابِيَهْ الحاقة [19]
So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record! Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [19]
إِنِّي ظَنَنتُ أَنِّي مُلَاقٍ حِسَابِيَهْ الحاقة [20]
Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [20]
فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَةٍ رَّاضِيَةٍ الحاقة [21]
So he will be in a pleasant life - Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [21]
فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍ الحاقة [22]
In an elevated garden, Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [22]
قُطُوفُهَا دَانِيَةٌ الحاقة [23]
Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [23]
كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا هَنِيئًا بِمَا أَسْلَفْتُمْ فِي الْأَيَّامِ الْخَالِيَةِ الحاقة [24]
[They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past." Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [24]
وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِشِمَالِهِ فَيَقُولُ يَا لَيْتَنِي لَمْ أُوتَ كِتَابِيَهْ الحاقة [25]
But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [25]
وَلَمْ أَدْرِ مَا حِسَابِيَهْ الحاقة [26]
And had not known what is my account. Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [26]
يَا لَيْتَهَا كَانَتِ الْقَاضِيَةَ الحاقة [27]
I wish my death had been the decisive one. Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [27]
مَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنِّي مَالِيَهْ ۜ الحاقة [28]
My wealth has not availed me. Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [28]
هَلَكَ عَنِّي سُلْطَانِيَهْ الحاقة [29]
Gone from me is my authority." Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [29]
خُذُوهُ فَغُلُّوهُ الحاقة [30]
[Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him. Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [30]
ثُمَّ الْجَحِيمَ صَلُّوهُ الحاقة [31]
Then into Hellfire drive him. Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [31]
ثُمَّ فِي سِلْسِلَةٍ ذَرْعُهَا سَبْعُونَ ذِرَاعًا فَاسْلُكُوهُ الحاقة [32]
Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [32]
إِنَّهُ كَانَ لَا يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ الْعَظِيمِ الحاقة [33]
Indeed, he did not used to believe in Allah, the Most Great, Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [33]
وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِينِ الحاقة [34]
Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poor. Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [34]
فَلَيْسَ لَهُ الْيَوْمَ هَاهُنَا حَمِيمٌ الحاقة [35]
So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [35]
وَلَا طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِنْ غِسْلِينٍ الحاقة [36]
Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [36]
لَّا يَأْكُلُهُ إِلَّا الْخَاطِئُونَ الحاقة [37]
None will eat it except the sinners. Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [37]
فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِمَا تُبْصِرُونَ الحاقة [38]
So I swear by what you see Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [38]
وَمَا لَا تُبْصِرُونَ الحاقة [39]
And what you do not see Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [39]
إِنَّهُ لَقَوْلُ رَسُولٍ كَرِيمٍ الحاقة [40]
[That] indeed, the Qur'an is the word of a noble Messenger. Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [40]
وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَاعِرٍ ۚ قَلِيلًا مَّا تُؤْمِنُونَ الحاقة [41]
And it is not the word of a poet; little do you believe. Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [41]
وَلَا بِقَوْلِ كَاهِنٍ ۚ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ الحاقة [42]
Nor the word of a soothsayer; little do you remember. Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [42]
تَنزِيلٌ مِّن رَّبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ الحاقة [43]
[It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [43]
وَلَوْ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيْنَا بَعْضَ الْأَقَاوِيلِ الحاقة [44]
And if Muhammad had made up about Us some [false] sayings, Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [44]
لَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُ بِالْيَمِينِ الحاقة [45]
We would have seized him by the right hand; Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [45]
ثُمَّ لَقَطَعْنَا مِنْهُ الْوَتِينَ الحاقة [46]
Then We would have cut from him the aorta. Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [46]
فَمَا مِنكُم مِّنْ أَحَدٍ عَنْهُ حَاجِزِينَ الحاقة [47]
And there is no one of you who could prevent [Us] from him. Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [47]
وَإِنَّهُ لَتَذْكِرَةٌ لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ الحاقة [48]
And indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder for the righteous. Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [48]
وَإِنَّا لَنَعْلَمُ أَنَّ مِنكُم مُّكَذِّبِينَ الحاقة [49]
And indeed, We know that among you are deniers. Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [49]
وَإِنَّهُ لَحَسْرَةٌ عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ الحاقة [50]
And indeed, it will be [a cause of] regret upon the disbelievers. Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [50]
وَإِنَّهُ لَحَقُّ الْيَقِينِ الحاقة [51]
And indeed, it is the truth of certainty. Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [51]
فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ الحاقة [52]
So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great. Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) [52]
