Al-Fatihah: The Opening Chapter of the Noble Qur’an
Surah Al-Fatihah, also known as “Al-Fatihah”, is the first surah in the Holy Quran, and is considered one of the most important surahs in Islam. The seven-verse Al-Fatiha begins with Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, highlighting the importance of gratitude and praise to God. It is recited in every rak’ah of Muslim prayer, reflecting its central role in Islamic worship.
Surah Al-Fatiha includes several meanings, including praise be to God, mercy, and faith in the afterlife. It also includes a supplication for guidance to the straight path, making it a continuous supplication for Muslims to remain steadfast on the straight path.
Al-Fatihah ( The Opening ) - الفاتحة
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ الفاتحة [1]
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. Al-Fatihah ( The Opening ) [1]
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ الفاتحة [2]
[All] praise is [due] to Allah, Lord of the worlds - Al-Fatihah ( The Opening ) [2]
الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ الفاتحة [3]
The Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful, Al-Fatihah ( The Opening ) [3]
مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ الفاتحة [4]
Sovereign of the Day of Recompense. Al-Fatihah ( The Opening ) [4]
إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ الفاتحة [5]
It is You we worship and You we ask for help. Al-Fatihah ( The Opening ) [5]
اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ الفاتحة [6]
Guide us to the straight path - Al-Fatihah ( The Opening ) [6]
صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ الفاتحة [7]
The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have evoked [Your] anger or of those who are astray. Al-Fatihah ( The Opening ) [7]
